Sukhothai is an old city that contains lots of temples and Buddha images which dated back to the 13th and 14th centuries. I just arrived here from a 45 minute drive by motorbike together with friends. Driving in such a distance caused my fingers to get numb. Am really tired too huhuh...
Anyhow, we will be visiting the park tomorrow morning but need to comeback before 1 pm since a group of 5 students are waiting for me (a real bummer lol). Been here last year for a seminar yet was not able to visit the park....This is my very first actually.
I am looking forward to see the ancient ruins of the temples of the Sukhothai period. Pictures will be uploaded perhaps tomorrow once i get home. Several of it will surely be uploaded HERE. I was wondering how the old city looks like and if the title of the post "A back to the future it is not" is appropriate..I can't think of any so i hope this one caught your interest hehe. Ciao!

A Lesson To Remember!
Golden Shower Tree
Every afternoon just before 5 pm, doves and other species of birds are making noise up on the Golden Shower Tree (Thailand's National Tree). The tree by the way is just 10 meters away from my house and the birds are my regular visitors being there almost everyday. More often than not as I am trying to keep myself busy, they are always ignored.
One of the doves
This afternoon while i was watering the plants in a very small garden of ours, I saw a couple of birds having their good time. Some were hopping from one branch to the other while others were flying somewhere and back. I can't help myself but look at them for the first time and found them entertaining.
A bomber plane and a bomber bird
After watering the plants, i sat outside the gate and stared at them. I was enjoying every bit of what they were doing when something warm and sticky liquid thingie fell on my head. I knew then that a bird dropped its atomic bomb on me. I was thinking of throwing something to the bird for retaliation lol. Since the bomb already exploded on my head and i can't do nothing but to rinse the remains of the bomb, i promise not to sit on the same exact spot ever again.

A Tiring yet Rewarding Job
I want to share one of my experiences teaching here in Thailand. I am teaching college students for two years now and been enjoying it. However, teaching kids of 5-6 was an alien thing to me. I taught at ECC (English, Chinese, Computer), a known language center here three weeks ago because my gf who teaches there, went to Bangkok to get a letter from the Ministry of Education (What a bummer, lol).
I was a bit skeptic on whether to accept her proposal or refuse it, knowing I don't have an experience teaching small children and i don't know how to pacify them when tantrums arise. I said yes though, but I am not sure why.
It was a bit early when i arrived and there were butterflies in my stomach. Questions of when and how to start kept popping out. The little girl named "Tonhom" arrived first followed by "Merg". I taught them three hours straight and it was a disaster during the first hour. Tongue-tied, sweating and stuttering? That happened to me (sad). Apart from that, they weren't also not paying attention. After the break, i decided to act like a kid myself and started singing and dancing all over the place (perhaps i was too serious for them, what yah think?). They smiled for the first time and that made a difference.
I was motivated by their smile and became more active with lots of smile and stuff. They felt at ease and so do i. I was so tired after the session because teaching kids involves all parts of the body (lol). But seeing them happy and that they learned something, eased my tiredness away. Well, that was it..Hehe..A tiring, yet rewarding job indeed.
And just so you know...We are very good friends now. Wink wink....

Thai Honesty
Three weeks ago, me and my girlfriend had our dinner at KFC in Topland Hotel. We had a very interesting conversation and had a wonderful meal too. After couple of minutes of making jokes and being oblivious of the things around us, we decided to leave the place.
Two days later, my gf told me she can't find her purse. Since we visited a friend a day after that, we thought she forgotten it there (the purse by the way doesn't have lots of cash...just some important docs and atm cards, of course). We called our friend and to our horror, it was not there. I even checked it with the immigration office because we went there too, but still to no avail.
We decided to report the matter to the bank and close all atm cards or change it perhaps. When we arrived at the hotel (also mall), my stomach became a friend in disguise because we immediately went to the KFC first. I made my order and was told by one of the crews that they saw a purse with my gf's pic (they were looking at my gf... probably making sure if she was the lady on the pic). Once the verification process was finished, they gave it back to us.
As a goodwill gesture, we paid the lunch of Kemp (the crew who found the purse). We found her very kind and soft spoken. She was also shy of getting her pic taken. I know this type of thing is not new, however in this world we live in...very few can still do the act that was done by her.
To Kemp...Thank you very much. Continue being you and I am sure that you have a long way ahead.

It's Nice To Be Back!
As you can see, my last post was dated October of 2009. I quit blogging because i was so busy with school stuff and lost interest after the vacation in the Philippines. But now, i started to have the liking of writing again. I actually made a new blog about South East Asia that specifically cover all the tourist destinations, landmarks, etc. I wrote 32 posts already and still counting. Some pics were taken by me, some were my friends and others were taken online. Here's the url for more info http://irresistiblesea.blogspot.com/
My new blog is informative as what other people say. I hope you check it and leave comments after. Meanwhile, I will try to update this blog on a regular basis just like what I am doing with my other blog. I am also planning to integrate more ads like adgitize or entrecard for better exposure in the blogopshere. I only have 4 followers here including myself (sad).
I decided that this blog will not cover My Life As A Teacher alone but also rantings, thoughts or whatever comes to my mind.
I am happy that I'm back again here..It is indeed nice to be back.
